「情熱大陸」や「プロフェッショナル」といった人物ドキュメンタリーを見ていると、たまにピリピリとした雰囲気で「撮影はやめてください」と取材陣に厳しく接する人もいますが、個人的な印象としては、そういう人にかぎってあまり大きな仕事をしていない、というか、小粒な人物が多いような気がします（本当に自分の勝手な印象ですが）。一方で、あるジャンルの最高峰におり、一流のなかの一流をゆく人の多くは、あまり小さなことにこだわらず、鷹揚で、ピリピリした姿を周囲に見せないように思います。どんな極限にあっても厳しい状態にあっても、どこか精神的なゆとりを感じさせたり、ユーモアを見せたり。そういった「人間のよさ」も一流であることの要素のひとつなのかもしれないな、と思いました。
